The following information is a complete version of the General Terms and Conditions related to
use of the services offered by backstagejobs.com.au
Additional conditions may apply to specific features, functions or arrangements with backstagejobs.com.au
If additional Terms or Conditions apply, a link to the additional Terms or Conditions will be
placed in an appropriate location relative to that feature, or the additional Terms or Conditions
themselves will be clearly displayed in an appropriate location.
In this document, the following labels and meanings apply:
Company / Companies – any entity which is not a person
for example, a representitive of any registered business or private or public trust who is performing
duties for that business or private or public trust, or a business / company registered under laws
goverened by a State, Territory, Commonwealth or other recognised municipality;
Job advertisement – a description of an available work opportunity that you are
authorised to make available to the general public;
Our / Us / We – www.backstagejobs.com.au technology, staff and closely related associates (eg LPA Entertainment Australia);
Person(s) – an individual person who is not an authorised representitive of a company
for example, a private individual who is advertising themself as being available for particular kinds of employment;
Service(s) – the websites and other technological services operated or maintained by us
for example, www.backstagejobs.com.au, RSS/XML feeds supplied by us, email bulletins sent by us, online job application
forms hosted on our computer server(s);
You / Your – the person or company accessing or using the service;
Work Wanted Advertisement – a summary of a persons skills, contact details
and other information that shows the persons interest in seeking a particular kind of employment.
Acceptable use of the backstagejobs.com.au service
We hope the service offered by backstagejobs.com.au will be useful and suitable for people
and companies in the entertainment industry to:
- Advertise their entertainment industry employment vacancies (Submit a Job Advertisement)
- Promote their availability for particular types of work (Submit a Work Wanted Advertisement)
- Find and read entertainment industry news or reviews (E-Bulletin / Job Bulletin)
- Advertise their actual business and services (Be a Banner Advertising Customer)
- Find and apply for employment vacancies (Find Jobs)
“Acceptable Use” of the service is any use which does not conflict with the above points,
and does not violate any laws of New South Wales, Australia.
Anything you do at backstagejobs.com.au which complies with the spirit of those outcomes
will generally be considered “acceptable use”.
What is not acceptable use of the service
Posting Job Advertisements, Work Wanted Advertisements or Banner Advertising for:
- jobseekers, employment vacancies, services, businesses or products which:
- are non-existant
- already filled
- are misleading
- are illegal
- contain indecency
- contain links to other internet sites which would breach our Acceptable Use criteria
- contain adult or sexual themes, sounds, imagery or animation
- are rude, threatening, violent, harrassing, ageist, sexist, racist or offensive
is not acceptable.
We will determine what “indecent”, “misleading”, “adult”, etc.
means on a case by case basis.
Our determination may change from time to time.
If we discover a person or company is abusing the service
in this manner, we reserve the right to remove your (current and future) Job
Advertisement or Work Wanted Advertisement or Banner Advertising without notice and
without refunding monies already paid.
We also reserve the right to block your ability to submit details
in future, and/or block or restrict your access to any or all of the services
we supply.
“Spamming” the job advertisement, Work Wanted listings or banner advertising is unacceptable.
Apart from the general meaning of spam (unwanted, inappropriate, mass marketing),
we also have a flexible limit on how often a person or company can advertise the same
employment vacancy or Work Wanted or banner advertisement.
If we notice a person or company abusing the service in this manner, we reserve
the right to restrict, remove or limit their current or future advertising abilities, as well as
removing their currently displayed Work Wanted or Job Advertisement or Banner Advertising.
Using content from the backstagejobs.com.au service

Availability of service
While we endevour to have the service fully operational 24 hours a day,
we can not guarantee the service will be available at all times.
Regular maintenance, capacity upgrades, upstream network providers etc can all impact
on the availability, speed and peformance of the service.
We do not authorise any person or company to use any technologies which would disrupt
the normal operation of our service. This includes “bots” or other scripts and
automated tools which cause a slowdown or breakdown of our service.
If you have a genuine need for automatically sending or receiving information updates
to/from backstagejobs.com.au, contact
our webmaster with the following information:
- Your name, position and company
- The reason you require regularly updated information
- The type of information you require (eg all Work Wanted advertisements for TAS)
- The preferred format of information (eg RSS, html, CSV, plain text, sql)
We will consider each case individually and advise you of our capacity to receive
or supply the required information in an agreed format.
Dispute resolution
If you do not agree with something backstagejobs.com.au has done, please
contact us for an explanation.
We will discuss the situation and allow you an opportunity to explain your position.
If you are still not satisfied with the way you were treated, you can to speak with a
manager at a mutually convenient time to discuss refunding your advertisement costs.
Refunds will be at the sole discretion of backstagejobs.com.au management.
You may have other statutory rights which over-ride this general policy.
