PERTH THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS THE REMOVALISTS

Perth Theatre Company is presenting David Williamson’s award-winning and aptly titled Australian drama The Removalists as a farewell season at the Playhouse Theatre.
This hilarious, unpredictable and explosive work is directed by Company Artistic Director Melissa Cantwell (Equus, Speed-The-Plow, St Nicholas). It depicts David Williamson AO at his youthful best with a razor-sharp satire on power and authority.
The Removalists sees the return to the Perth stage of multi-Logie and ARIA Award winner Jon English in the title role. He is supported by Perth Theatre Company favourite Greg McNeill (Face To Face, Baby Boomer Blues, Cargo), as well as Phil Miolin and Kim Walsh along with Sam Devenport and Fiona Pepper in their West Australian stage debut.
Mat Cheetham (sound), Fleur Kingsland (costumes), Leon Krasenstein (set), Andrew Lake (lighting) Alice Lee Holland and Andy Fraser (Fight choreography) make up the design team who will present The Removalists in retro-inspired contemporary style.
Director Melissa Cantwell can’t wait to start work on the production, saying that The Removalists is the ideal play to farewell the Playhouse Theatre.
“It’s a big, scary, funny, visceral Australian play! There are so many reasons why this work has come to be known as a classic – the characters, the typically Australian reject and slave to authority, the rhythms, the ultra snappy dialogue that knocks you off your feet, the questions it asks, and the punches it delivers!”
Don’t miss this ferociously funny, surprising and contemporary production of Williamson’s masterwork and Perth Theatre Company’s final tribute to the Playhouse Theatre.
